Building Community Connections: NewSchool Supports San Diego’s Future Architects and Designers

NewSchool of Architecture & Design is excited to celebrate a new community connection with San Diego Mesa College’s Mesa Architectural Workshop (MAW), an emerging student organization dedicated to fostering the next generation of architects and designers.

In 2026, Mesa College students established their chapter of the American Institute of Architecture Students (AIAS), creating new opportunities for collaboration, creativity, and professional development within San Diego’s architecture community.

As part of this growing connection, the NewSchool Foundation is proud to serve as an official sponsor of the upcoming Mesa Architecture Student Showcase at the Linda Vista Library.

Strengthening San Diego’s Architecture and Design Community

At NewSchool, we believe that supporting future architects and designers extends beyond the classroom and our campus. Building meaningful relationships with local colleges, student organizations, and industry professionals is an important part of creating opportunities for students to learn, connect, and envision their futures.

Our connection with the Mesa Architectural Workshop reflects NewSchool’s continued commitment to engaging with the San Diego community and supporting aspiring design professionals at every stage of their educational journey.

We look forward to celebrating the students’ work at the upcoming showcase and continuing to build connections that inspire the next generation of architects and designers.
